  Oklahoma faces another large budget hole, and little legislative appetite for new revenue. The state Board of Equalization this week authorized the legislature to spend just over 7 billion dollars next fiscal year, but still facing a 167 million dollar shortfall without new revenue. A bill by Representatives Mickey Dollens and Jon Echols would allow a pilot program to grow hemp on state university land under strict supervision. Hemp is a close cousin of marijuana but without the intoxicating effects. It can be used to make a wide variety of products, including CBD oils, textiles and building materials.
