Growing Hemp
A bipartisan effort to allow hemp to be grown in Oklahoma gains momentum. A bill by Representatives Mickey Dollens and Jon Echols would allow a pilot program to grow hemp on state university land under strict supervision. Hemp is a close cousin of marijuana but without the intoxicating effects. It can be used to make a wide variety of products, including CBD oils, textiles and building materials.
