Budget Debacle
Lawmakers struggle to find a solution for Oklahoma's budget crisis. Democrats maintain any solution should include an increase in the gross production tax rate on oil and gas. Republicans offer an increase in the cigarette tax, motor fuels tax, and an adjustment in the state's alcohol tax to fill a 215 million dollar budget hole and provide raises for teachers and state employees.
