  A new national study shows Oklahoma is the sixth worst state in the nation for cutting funding to higher education. Since 2008 Oklahoma has slashed higher education by 34-percent.   Oklahoma’s teacher shortage continues to worsen. A new study finds over a thousand teacher jobs remain open or have been eliminated for the new school year. Another 1430 positions are now filled by people who received emergency teacher certification. Common education officials warn if something is not done soon about ongoing funding cuts or flat budgets, public schools will begin to go bankrupt.
